Program participants are referred by the Essex County family court system to participate in this after school program, as an alternative to incarceration.  The program offers basic skills, job placement, and access to post-secondary education to participants.  The training includes introductory, intermediate and advanced computer training courses, instruction in utilizing the Internet, and for school dropouts, computerized training in mathematics, English, social studies and science in order to fulfill requirements for the General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).  GED Referrals are made to the county and local institutions especially with the County Youth Resource Center. The Youth Resource Center provides assessment and case management services leading to additional opportunities for academic enrichment, workplace readiness, and employment opportunities.
